The students we challenged to create two puppets as part of the development of characters and eventually into stories. One puppet is connected to the earth and another one is an alien being. By selecting a creation from the earth connects to the land, and becomes a vehicle for inquiry on animal adaptability in nature. What can an animal teach humans about being resilient through the undulations of the environment. A being connected to the land is also learning from the past. The alien being represents individual childlike imagination as well as future, the alien being is a helper indicative perhaps what the future could look like? What dialogue between an earth being and alien reveal about a shared spirit and culture of resilience.
